Production Workshops

Playhouse on the Square’s Production Workshops are created to engage audiences (youth, teens, and adults) in the process of developing, producing, and performing in the theatre industry. Workshops are intended for any levels of performers and range from dance, voice, acting puppetry, and more. Taught by local theatre professionals, Playhouse staff members, and the cast and crew of each production, our workshops are intended to introduce our patrons to the work we do in a hands-on way by engaging the audience in exploring the productions they see on our stages.

Upcoming Workshops

Join the Playhouse staff and the cast of James and the Giant Peach for a high energy, fun, and peachy workshop. Students will learn a dance from the production, explore vocal techniques while tackling a song from the show, discover how the cast operates their puppets while creating their own puppet, and have the chance to meet the cast and production staff of James and the Giant Peach. This workshop is open the students currently in the 3rd-5th grade and will take place on Friday March 16 from 12-5pm.

There are two price options:

$40 will include the cost of the workshop plus one (1) youth ticket to the production

$30 will include the cost of the worksop. (Tickets may be purchased at another time by contacting our Box Office)

Special Offer: Purchase a ticket for Opening Night and receive $5 off your workshop price and join us for an Opening Night reception after the performance.
