When Nick and Nigel Bottom decide their theatre troupe rivals that of William Shakespeare the best way to beat him is to hire a soothsayer and write a musical about Eggs… right? This Tony Award-winning romp is a love story to all things theatre!

CASTING: Singer/Dancers Ages 18 and Up.  All gender and ethnicities welcome.   *PLEASE NOTE – The role of William Shakespeare has been filled by Associate Company Member Donald Sutton.  Other roles may be filled by members of our Resident or Associate Company.

WHAT TO PREPARE: Please prepare 32 bars of a musical theatre song.  Funny is always good!!  Please bring sheet music for an accompaniment.  (Singing from the show is also welcome but not required). Please bring a headshot and resume if possible.  Some people may be asked to stay to dance so please bring clothes you will be comfortable moving in.  *Please bring tap shoes if you have them!

Something Rotten Is Directed by Chicago Guest Artist Scott Ferguson (Rock of Ages; The Rocky Horror Show); Choreographed by Whitney Branan (Madagascar; Head Over Heels); and  Music Directed by Nathan McHenry (Kinky Boots; Tuck Everlasting)  The show begins rehearsals in early May and runs at Playhouse on the Square June 19 – July 12, 2020.
